Review on 💾 WAVLINK USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure - 2.5 Inch SATA I/II/III/HDD/SSD, UASP & 2TB Support (Black) by Alex Cassanova

Edit: I've been using this case for a while now and somehow it seems more reliable. I was able to leave it on for days and it now fully works with time machine backups. It works very fast and hasn't even shut down in weeks *knocks on wood*. Add one star to the full 5 stars. I don't know why it didn't want to work fully when I first got it, but now it seems perfect. First review below. I inserted a surveillance-level hard drive and connected it to my Mac. Worked without errors after formatting. However, it didn't work with the Time Machine backup. It wasn't reliable enough and after a while it would momentarily disconnect before reconnecting and remounting, stopping the backup process. I then replaced it with an old hard drive on my Linux server to recover data from a hardware failure. It worked great for that. I couldn't even reproduce the unmount issue on Linux, so maybe it's the OSX driver? Either way. I'm still pretty happy with it even though it doesn't work for Time Machine backups. I will only use it as external storage.
