My simplified setup helped

I got a new 13" MBP with a touchpad and I didn't want to get caught up in keys and adapters. My old setup with a 2016 15" MBP had a lot of cables on one side of the laptop due to the use of multiple monitors and USB hubs. This helps replicate my multi-monitor setup but makes it easier by simply plugging this hub into the side of the laptop. HDMI works great. The second monitor must be routed through the TB3 connector along with the power supply. To do this, I use Choetech USB-C HDMI with a power delivery cable to connect to the TB3 port. Now I have at least two cables, to power the computer and output to 2 monitors in extended view. I decided to stop using my Logitech keyboard and mouse with a USB Unifying receiver and switched to a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to free up the USB-A port on the hub, but since these receivers are so small are, it wouldn't really make much of a difference. I used the extra USB-C port on the hub to connect the Zorloo ZuperDAC-S so I could plug in my headphones. All in all, a streamlined solution for my desktop setup, and it all starts with this hub only coming out on one side of the computer. On the other side of the computer, ports are open for anything I might need, but I most likely won't be using them, just to make my setup as easy as possible.
