OK, arrived quickly and in excellent condition (refurbished but like new). In the beginning it was easy to set up. I immediately updated the bios to the latest version. Everything went as it should. Documentation is minimal, but at first the hotspot setup and default settings seemed to work fine. The problems only started after a few days. Disconnects, slow speeds, and internet connection issues have made twice-daily reboots the norm. I was about to return it but decided to CHANGE my network settings. I have a complex network with alarm system, cameras, TV streaming, game console etc. 46 clients in total. That was the problem. While this router has the "horsepower" to handle it all, the default settings aren't set up well for it. The first thing that caught my eye was the "smart connection" that uploaded everything to the 2.4GHz network. I had 26 customers with this one alone. 2.4GHz cannot serve more than 12 clients due to insufficient total bandwidth. So I turned that off and manually configured each client, putting as many as possible on two 5GHz radios. This solved most of the problems. There was still slow jerky work with the cameras on the network. I disabled dynamic QOS as it gave low priority to the cameras and high priority to my gaming system (good if you're a gamer). It doesn't let you program priority (stupid). Disabling has helped some, but not enough. Finally, I noticed that MU MIMO was no less disabled by default. Why would I pay for this feature and disable it by default in an obscure menu at the very bottom of the advanced wireless network settings list? Not logical. Switched on and now the video is smooth on all cameras. NO dropped connections. Has been working flawlessly for almost two weeks. I am happy. SO: 5 stars for the quality of the product. I deducted one star for the poor default settings and lack of documentation on the settings even after checking online. I have over 20 years of networking experience. A "normal" user wouldn't be able to understand this, and Netgear won't help here.
