No matter where I am with this laptop stand, it fits in my laptop bag along with my laptop, cables, flash drives and whatever else I put in it. They are really great for at home, in the office or on the go. I have several laptops that I use with these stands. For my Chromebook, it's a lot smaller than my laptop at just under 12 inches. It fits easily on these stands and I can slide them to any position and width. My laptop is nearly 16 inches, and again, these stands are just the right length and width for it. No matter what laptop I use, it keeps my laptop cool and cool during use. If I need to dry myself, I can do that. However, what bothered me was that they might fall off during use. This was not the case. I don't press hard on my laptop, but they stay in place during use and typing, and I don't have to open them all the time. Very easy to use and I like that they keep almost anywhere I put them. Not to mention there are these flaps on the bottom for my laptop to stay on, but the stand has silicone or rubber tabs to prevent my laptop from being scratched by these stands.
