I pre-ordered a few months ago, finally got it and can finally get rid of all the regular xbox live mics, this thing works great. I didn't need a stereo mic as I have a wonderful surround sound system. All I wanted was a quality headset for communication and that was it. It's more comfortable than I expected. The sound is clear and people can hear me without any problems. The boom is easy to adjust but not flimsy. People couldn't hear me breathing when they were within a normal distance of my mouth, and they noticed that the voice quality was much clearer. Also, I like to wear them on the right ear, although they are always visible to people on the left ear on any mic recording. . No problem, because it's either or. I wish it was cheaper than $25, but then again, I don't have to wait for Xbox Live Communicator and subscription bundles to go on sale to always replace cheap mics. Every other Xbox mic I had stopped working either due to faulty cables or a cheap connector. This one has a durable plug that didn't have to be moved to get rid of static electricity. The volume/mute button part sits about halfway down the cable with the clip and is also of good quality. I'm not the type to spend money on accessories, especially what comes free with the device, but it was worth it. As they say about beds, if you use a lot of them you might as well splurge on quality stuff, I'm sure my ear would agree. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them. I will definitely buy another one for my son.
