It took a little longer than I thought to assemble, but the end product was great. The guide is basically an illustrated guide. So take a close look at them to make sure all the holes look right. or you have to take it apart and switch in the right direction (look for the small circled areas that indicate the directions of the holes). Also, they warn against tightening the hardware almost to the end of the guide. This makes it easier to line up all the holes (sometimes the boards have to be a bit loose for these holes to line up, but mine did line them up). It's a small device and a bit pricey for its size, but it's everything I wanted to keep my remotes, iPhone charger, etc right where I sit to watch TV. I would buy this item again.
