Review on Ortofon Nightclub E Replacement Stylus by Heather Davis

I've been using Concorde DJ-s for many years, but recently dusted off my vinyl collection to include it in AIFF and my digital world of DJing After much research I decided to use these elliptical needles to get a better sound as some of my vinyl records were a bit worn and sounded a bit finicky (tinny and cutting on top like the transistor radio turned on too loud). I imagined that the elliptical stylus would fit the groove better and push out any confined groove burrs left on those worn records, i.e. the elliptical stylus would enter the part of the groove that the spherical styluses could not wear down. Ellipticals tend to wear out the vinyl if you do a lot of reverse tagging or scratching, but since my main goal was just to play vinyl, I think it's worth it. For rough DJing, I simply use my old DJ-S needles. I didn't have to buy cassettes because you can run Night Club E on a DJ-S cassette - I carefully researched this online first and there was a forum post somewhere where a real Ortofon engineer answered a question by saying that they are interchangeable with No problem. (Well, because I couldn't afford new cartridges!). Basically I am very satisfied with the sound. Also, I've spent a lot of time reading up on the correct tonearm weighting and balancing procedure and this is also of great value and worth the time spent and you should do it on every turntable you play. because so many djs screw up weights or mess around with anti skating it helps but makes everything sound and work worse.
