Overview: Sabrent USB 3.2 Tool-less Enclosure for NVMe PCIe M Key M.2 SSD [Black] (EC-TFNB) This device is very unreliable. I've tried using different USB ports on my PC and several different high-quality USB Type-C cables, and the results have always been the same: you always have to fiddle with it, plug and unplug it multiple times for it to work and remains recognized. as a connected Windows device. Also, the case only seems to work properly when connected directly to my PC's motherboard via USB. When plugged into my USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 jacks on my PC case, it usually doesn't work at all. Sometimes it can appear as a removable disk on my PC but then causes it to run indefinitely until disabled. I suspect (but can't confirm) that this case uses a lot of power to power the m.2 drives, and the extra resistance of the USB cables causes some power issues. A search of the manufacturer's website etc. cannot find any information on proper use. When it works, it runs fast and I can get read/write speeds of around 1 gigabytes per second on a Samsung 970 NVME SSD. This usage can get very hot. The cabinet itself has a quick release door with a small foldable quick release handle to lock the door when closed. The brand new handle was quite loose and dangling. It's a small thing, but it seems like the grip could break if it fails at the wrong time. It is very difficult to recommend this device with its functionality. Try a cheap one, if you're desperate for an external enclosure, or if you need to increase the number of m.2 drives you can use in your PC, try an M.2 to PCI-E -X4 adapter card.
