Review on 💅 Gellen Gel Nail Polish Kit: 6 Natural Skin Tone Colors with Top Coat & Base Coat for DIY Home Gel Manicure by Bridgette Andrada

Love it. Wow. Nine months ago I had never done a manicure (i.e. in the salon). I went there with a friend for my birthday and was amazed by the results - my fingers felt so glamorous AND looked great for a couple of weeks. A few months later I got two more manicures and took a break because we were busy due to ski season and now. waiting at home for the virus for a few months. So I decided to try this gel polish and I am very impressed. First, I was able to get this nail polish kit *and* a 72w UV lamp (no Gellen lamp) for less than what I paid for a salon manicure. Admittedly, with hand massages, cuticle lotion and oil and (somewhat cumbersome) cuticle trimming I don't get the full care, but with the result of this polish it is definitely worth it, even if I "missed" these extras. I made a whole hand of each so I don't have to worry about painting the "other hand" until I'm done with the top coat. At first I found the gel colors to be a little sticky, but they applied well, not too thick as I feared based on first impressions. The durability is excellent, also in all the insulated house projects we have worked on so far. For me it lasted like a manicure at the OPI salon. The colors are pleasing in my opinion, but what others like can of course be different. On a computer screen it's hard to tell what you're getting, but I think the product photos reflect what I received (in the Understated Elegance color set). I don't normally use bright colors like the shades of light nude included in this set, but I still feel so whimsical printing on a computer with a pink nude. The shine is excellent. The included top layer is non-washable, so handy in this age of limited alcohol.
