I've used Harbor Freight's inexpensive adhesive removers with success, so I was optimistic about this higher quality version. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. I tried to pull out a very small dent and a large dent made by a baseball (the photos show two dents before and after). I expected the small dent to come out easily but I doubted the larger one as it was on much thicker and stiffer metal. For every dent I made 3 jerks. The glue stuck well to the car but not well enough to the plastic tab. At the slightest tension, the tongue would separate from the glue almost without affecting the dents. Removing the glue from the car wasn't difficult, but some of the paint (probably varnish) came off along with the glue. I used denatured alcohol to remove the possibly too strong adhesive from the car. But I've used denatured alcohol on many different surfaces, including auto paint stains, and have never seen the paint or clear coat come off. The directions also say to use "more than 75% alcohol" to remove the glue. I only had 70% rubbing alcohol on hand, but figured denatured alcohol would work as well. Overall the puller and the components included in the kit look good but didn't fit me at all. I rated this puller 3 stars instead of 2 because I used it in an outside temperature of 62Β°F, which the instructions say should be the lowest metal temperature for this to work. I will try this again in early summer and change the rating if necessary. (Update - 6/1/2021) We had some warm days a few weeks ago so I tried this dent remover again on another car in my garage. This time I used 90% isopropyl alcohol and had no trouble removing paint or varnish. So don't use denatured alcohol. But on the other hand, the glue stuck adequately to the car but not to the plastic tabs. I thought the glue might be the problem so I tried the Harbor Freight Stud Remover Glue Stick from this kit. I have the same problem; The glue stuck well to the car but not to the tongue. Out of curiosity, I tried the glue that came with the Harbor Freight tabs and puller. Surprisingly it worked great. The glue stuck well to both the car and the tongue. So my current conclusion is that there is something wrong with the tabs that come with this set. I even tried sanding the tab with fine sandpaper but to no avail. A few days ago I read on the internet that quickly sweeping the burner flame over the tongue improves the adhesion of the glue. I don't know if it really works but I'll give it when we have another warm day. I will update this review again after trying.
