Review on 🔪 BeaverCraft BB1 Basswood Wood Carving Spoon Blank for Beginner Whittling Craft - Ideal Wood Blanks for Carving by Carol Miller

I ordered two blank spoons made of basswood, I think I got maple or cherry, definitely hardwood. The wood is clean on both parts with only two tiny knots on one part (which will be removed during carving). I'll use them anyway, it's just that they take longer to finish (more threading time isn't bad). As with all Beavercraft products I've tried, the quality was spot on and the wood carved evenly, it just needed a bit more. time.EDIT 3/29: When I removed material from the first piece while working on the "bowl" area of the spoon, I noticed that the wood was lighter and easier to cut and appeared to have a higher moisture content. This continued to show up as I worked on the rest of the spoon. It looks like the spoon blanks I received were drier than I expected so I'm changing my rating to 5 stars! I put the unused blank in a Ziploc gallon bag along with a clean damp sponge and will try to put it in. in the sun, hoping to re-wet the blank.
