Review on HP V20 19.5" Diagonal Computer Monitor with Anti-Glare Coating, Tilt Adjustment, Blue Light Filter, and HD Quality at 60Hz by Seth Keller

I ended up buying it on sale for about $80, but after seeing the original price of $115 plus strong marketing claims I figured it would be a good budget buy, bargain price and all. For $80, I might not be complaining (you get what you pay for, after all), but claims of "realistic color and detail" aren't even remotely true, and the blue light option doesn't really reduce eye strain for me. , and generally feel cheated on image quality. In addition, as pointed out by colleagues K. Aten and Nathan Flanery, my monitor suffers from image fading. It was subtle enough that I didn't notice it right away, but quickly noticed that text and colors at the bottom of the screen looked a lot lighter and blurrier. I ran a quick test in grayscale and my suspicions were confirmed, there's a gradual fading stretching from the top of the screen to the bottom. I don't know how common this problem is, but since I'm not the only one, I would advise most people to avoid this monitor unless you're on a budget. For $80 it's serviceable as long as you don't mind the annoyances outlined above (and provided it doesn't fail after a few months). But at any price above $100, it's not worth buying another model/brand. I will try to return it for a refund citing the image fading as a defect.
