It was very easy to climb. It was solid enough and my boy plays pretty rough. I tried a few other tents that said they were pop up but they still weren't easy to put together. My 8 year old can do this himself. This is perfect for a home in the winter but can easily become a backyard tent in the summer. The shape makes it spacious without taking up much space. My son loves it, my husband and I can easily plan to visit or play for a while. It has 3 windows if you prefer to be open but if you close them the camouflage will make them invisible. I am very happy with the purchase and we tried different types of tents, this was our first choice.
