The ability to free the mouse wheel so that it spins for 15 seconds or more on a single turn is a neat feature. If a page is loading in chunks and you need to see what's at the bottom, it can be helpful, but it's not always possible. The wheel has a distinct stride in normal mode, allowing you to scroll exactly as many times as you need, but the volume is disastrously high if you're merely scrolling a web page or document (but you get used to it quickly). The wheel to the left (to the right with the index finger is pretty useful, but you need to get accustomed to it) and two buttons to the left of the LMB were too many buttons for me to remember.
