That's a great idea, but the choice of monitors will be limited. The mounting section is deeply recessed so your monitor should fit between stands of the same width. Not many modern widescreen monitors will fit. You must have standoffs to allow the display to be mounted further forward (off-rack). We've found that we're using an older standard aspect ratio monitor to do what we want with it. It's well made and I can't fault the hardware, but the design is limiting.
