Yeti Pro is a competent and versatile mic, but a large-diaphragm condenser mic isn't necessarily the best tool for any given task. If you start with USB and later want to move to XLR, Samson Q2U, Q9U or Shure MV7 are dynamic microphones that will better isolate your voice. If all you need is USB, then of course don't take this mic. It's not a bad choice, however. I got good results and I think it looks cool (kind of "recognizable" because of the popularity). It's just that I won't replace it if it breaks - I've studied other mics enough to know which instruments are the best. Use case #1: Speak directly into the camera at a working distance to get it out of your face, but not enough to go off camera completely (my preference), like a shotgun or condenser mic. Use Case #2: Desktop Streaming or Recording: A camera to show just one face to show more of your computer application (like games) or other overlays (like a talk show). The image setting distances it from the camera or is close enough that the extra working distance compared to dynamic can make a difference here. will always sound better if the room is not treated with soundproofing (wall foam). Also, if you have a workroom, you probably know how to choose more specialized microphones. As others have mentioned, a shock absorber and mount are required to properly position the mic and keep it away from keyboard noise. I recommend placing it off-center so it doesn't cover your face and can be hidden when framing. The Yeti is too big to fit in front of your face unless you're recording music. When used off-center, no pop filter is needed (pop filters are used to control B/P hitting noise or "explosive noise"). I would only recommend a pop filter when singing - otherwise save money and keep it clean in front of the camera.
