Scotch Thermal Laminate Pouches perfectly seal, preserve and protect photos and documents when used with a 3M Scotch Thermal Laminator. 5 mil bags provide a tighter seal than standard 3 mil bags. However, 3 mil bags are suitable for most applications. I noticed that the thicker 5 mil product is labeled 5 mil on the packaging, but the thinner 3 mil product is not. One of the limitations of these laminating pouches is that the end result is not completely flat, but will always have some curvature or waviness. For something like a scrapbook or photo album that has many pages stacked side by side, those layers may not be flat enough. I use non-thermal laminating pouches with room temperature adhesive inside for applications where flatness is required. curl is acceptable.
