I freeze LOTS of corn every year to save my crop. So far I've pulled 7 dozen ears this season alone. I plan to do this two more times. I've tried so many different tools and methods to separate corn from the cob. From simply cutting with a knife, to other tools that threaten to rip your finger off, to others that break the first time you use them. This tool is amazing! I can husk an ear of corn in an average of 4 seconds (taking my time is fine!). Now there are things you must do to make it so easy. No tool works well with raw corn. You must at least blanch. Here is my process. Remove the husk and silk from the corn. Place clean ears in CLEAN ice/fridge. Boil the water and pour it over the corn, covering all of the corn. I use the same process when cooking large BBQ corn etc. Close the lid and let it sit for 20 minutes. At this point I transfer the corn bundle to a large bowl on the counter and leave the rest in the fridge. I have a large frying pan on my desk that I work in. Take a blanched corn cob, place the stripper on the pointed end and press down. It falls off easily. But you have to spin the corn or the gadget. I hold the corn in one hand and rotate it while pressing the device with the other. All the corn falls into the brazier. Yes some are strewn across the counter or floor but out of 7 dz of corn on the cob it was like 10 kernels no big deal or mess. When throwing a party, you can leave the corn in this water cooler for a few hours. and hours. It never burns out and always stays hot. The tool is easy to clean with water.
