I have a 6 pound Yorkshire. She wears them when she rides in her basket on my scooter. She also wears them under the Florida sun when we are there. Sun exposure to the eyes causes cataracts. I try to keep cataracts and debris from getting in their eyes. she likes them In fact, I gave her no choice. She started wearing them when she was a few months old. My first Yorkie wore them for about 8 years before the comfortable foam around the lenses dissipated. I take care when I put them on her so her hair doesn't get in her eyes. When I follow her or say "glasses" she stands at the door ready to go. I really like the ones that allow me to switch to clear lenses so she can see in the dark!
