If you're buying these as cookie cutters, don't get your hopes up. They are suitable for dough that does not puff up, such as B. Cake batter. They make excellent decorative fillings for pie dough and work well in shortbread dough. They are small and I just couldn't imagine cutting biscuits that small. I bought these to add a nice touch to the pie crust and they do a great job! If you use them for puffy cookies, you'll lose any pretty markings that are on the inside of the cutter. However, they work great with cake batter and I've bought enough to "theme" all the cakes I bake! Update 12/2013. I see where they are very popular for carving shapes with fondant cake frosting. I don't decorate with fondant so I can't comment on how well they fit. Although they seem to work fine.
