I've seen a lot of feedback about the holes not matching or being loose. (You're doing this wrong). I ended up thinking the same thing about holes, but took the time to start fresh and found out. The holes line up, the floor inside the scratching post has fabric. The tricky part is the cat apartment on the second level. If you put board 5 "with fabric" on top, then the bottom one will of course have no fabric in it. (You need to put the non-woven part 5 of the plate on ***TOP***) and then cover with the cloth cover provided. Many complaints do not do the scratching post justice as it is easy to fix. Great tree, great price! Something like this can easily cost $300 at a retail store. The price can't be beat and if the build is CORRECT it will be as advertised. I highly recommend.
