We live in the Blue Ridge Mountains and we have a pair of hunting dogs: ticks are a way of life. I don't know why we've never taken a tick remover before, but here we are. These little keys are awesome! They're made from nice and thick aluminum that won't bend or break. My husband and I each carry one on our keychains and keep a third in the common room in case we find any of the bad guys petting the dogs. For some reason my husband avoids the mites like the plague but seems to particularly like having me behind my ears and on the back of his head at the hairline so he has more experience with that than I do. He had no problems and not a single tick head remained. The fact that they work well in unusual places like behind the ear gives me confidence that they work well on dogs that tend to pick up ticks on their tummy. These little wrenches are built to last and with a little luck you'll never need to use them. But better safe than sorry. Buy them for yourself or give them to friends who enjoy hiking, camping or walking their dogs in extreme conditions. These are great little tools.
