I bought my daughter a pair of large binoculars thinking it would be easier for lunar viewing and was glad I could see Jupiter's moons. But not very useful for many other things, and Saturn's rings were not visible with binoculars. As soon as I saw the price of 70 eq I decided to take a risk and buy. I'm not dissatisfied. The images of Saturn above are close to the visual quality you will see. (It was foggy here, so that might be the limiting factor). However, it won't be that big. Photographers of the planet can take a series of shots, overlay them, refine and edit them a little further and get great pictures. But looking through this telescope is not the same as stacking images. I am very happy with my Celestron purchase and the telescope was easy to assemble. It can be difficult to use at first, but I think the more I use it, the easier it gets. The tripod is very solid and I am very happy with the fine adjustment knobs which make it easy to track objects without having to manually manipulate the telescope. So yeah, I'm looking forward to observing Saturn for a while and can't wait to get back to Jupiter (those are its moons!) And who knows, maybe one day I'll get a bigger/better Celestron telescope.
