The material used is a combination of plastic and rubber. They are more durable, tighter fitting than 100% silicone which is softer and easier to knock off the door. Many of the various silicone skins had curved insides that didn't match the right angles of the door edge well: the softer silicone skins tended to droop/tilt down maybe 5-10 degrees - they could be said to be more flexible. I found the blue silicones redesigned to have square inside corners that matched the square corners of the door edge better than the curved silicone inside edges, but while they were nice because they were made of the same soft silicone, they were they all a bit more flexible + didn't fit as well and tightly as these (silicone ones would be my alternative, 2nd choice). Ordered 4 packs (two per pack) for 2 doors as one set is easier to knock down than a group of parallel ones holding each other together if someone hits them with their shoulders while going through the door. I noticed that when I lined up a batch on the same door, those 1-2 were slightly smaller or more rigid/less flexible; They still fitted but were tighter: presumably the stress of pulling/pulling the smaller or perhaps harder ones over the edge of the door (they were harder to get to the door) caused them to deform somewhat. We'll see how this material holds up in the air/environment and maybe return a pair that's smaller.
