I hooked up this little adapter for the first time and was able to see my Sony A6100's video on the screen but with severe artifacts in the video stream. I thought my cable had come loose and as I approached the device I nearly burned my fingers. I recently took the device apart when trying to use it again and found that the chip in the middle had melted and looked like it had shorted out. It didn't damage the computer I connected it to, but it's clearly defective. I absolutely cannot recommend this device.
