I do not recommend it as a gift. The first thing you have to do when you open the packaging is to put it in the washing machine. The fumes and smell of the dye are overpowering. Not wanting to wash them before wrapping them for a birthday present, I put them on the bed and turned on the ceiling fan. After 2 days I was able to put them in a box. I hope when he opens it in a few days the smell and fumes won't reappear, but I'll definitely recommend his mum to wash them before letting him wear them. I would be concerned about a rash.
