Review on PanPastel 20 Cavity Palette Tray by Carla Anderson

It is NOT hard plastic; Does NOT close securely but is better than nothing

I expected a couple of key points from a product at this price point. Firstly, to work as a "palette" I expected it to be hard plastic. He's not tough. It's firmer than a supermarket salad basket, but not by much. I've included a video so you can see the plastic swaying in the air, as well as a picture of the entire palette so you can see it flexing just from the weight of the pastel. I'm sure that one day it will crack simply by being picked up. Second, I expected it to hold pastel colors securely. There are small bulges on the sides of the holes, which are probably intended to "snap" the pastels firmly into them. You are not. They push in and sometimes catch one of those hits, but they don't click and I can push harder each time I open the lid and they don't stay. They don't jump out, but I didn't expect him to grab one of them when knocked off the table either. At least the lid is tight, isn't it? nope It's as cozy as a salad basket in the supermarket. Because it was packed in a ziplock plastic bag which was very tight. I saved this and store a closed palette in it. The lid has no opening space in the bag so I can carry it so safely. Without rubber bands or tape or something, I wouldn't trust him. For some reason it's classified as "transparent" - so yes, you can see through it. You don't have to because the lid comes off, but you can. I think this thing is about a third of what it is and given the quality of every other PP product I'm frankly embarrassed. However, there is no other way to use them conveniently. I could buy some extra caps and keep them in a cigar box or something. But when I cover all the colors, they don't stack, and when I stack them, only one has a cap. A very strange system. This pallet jig is better than nothing so far, and that's about all it's better for. Until I find a better way or find the configuration so cumbersome that I just won't use it, this will do.
