First, I used a slower wireless USB adapter here because I've been using it for a long time. I didn't include any pictures of the PowerLine adapter because I was just too lazy. Also, please excuse my grammar. xDI was dealing with internet speeds that weren't up to my personal standards, so I really wanted something new and faster. Things have changed since my apartment building recently gave up that crappy CenturyLink DSL (8 down/.5 up) and got a Spectrum (100 down/10 up not counting the boost). I had to activate the game with WiFi. I've had the Edimax (EW-7811Un 150Mbps 11n Wi-Fi Nano USB Adapter for $9.99) for a long time. This works fine in my brother's room, of course he's just on the other side of the modem/router wall so he should do it. The computer in my room is 20 feet away and I suspect a lot of interference. Edimax was next (EW-7722UTn v2, 300Mbps, 11n Wireless Mini USB Adapter for $14.99). The first one I got was complete rubbish and many other reviews of this model said the same. It was slow and even when it said it was connected it wasn't loading pages. The one I have as a spare is really no better. Okay so both are overkill for my home computer, in my brother's room they are definitely better, that's for sure. These two are slower than my DSL connection and nobody likes it! With Ethernet PowerLine (TP-Link AV500 $34.99) I had good speed, but I needed less cords as I have a cat and he loves cords. .Information and pictures are based on several attempts and different settings, this is the best I could do. This is what I get from these units (pics included for most) AC1200 (98.55 down, 11.92 up) Ethernet cable (116.47 down, 11.93 up) As you can see this is WIFI -Adapter 5 GHz what I wanted! This is of course very important to you depending on what settings you are using, what speeds you have and of course if your router supports it. I have a Spectrum Arris Touchstone TG1672 modem/router. Anyway, 5/5 stars for me, it does what is advertised and I have no regrets or problems. ๐Most likely I'll buy another one for my brother's room and another one when I build and/or test a PC. 83 Up) PowerLink TP-Link 150 Kit (43.17 Down, 9.72 Up) Inamax WiFi AC1200 Adapter (98.55 Down, 11.92 Up) Ethernet Cable (116.47 Down, 11.93 Up) Like As you can see, this 5GHz WIFI adapter is exactly what I wanted!
