I needed an affordable alternative to Hue Lightstrips

I have Hue Lightstrips under my kitchen cabinets which I love but are expensive. When installing a new bookshelf in my kitchen, I wanted to light up one of the shelves (mainly for beauty reasons) and immediately turned to Hue, but the $80 buy-in for 22-inch lights was too much for me. So I started looking for more affordable options and this was the cheapest I could find. These are not "smart" lights, but I had a smart plug on hand to use them, so that wasn't a problem. They don't change color like Hue's light strips, but they do dim: if you press and hold the power button, they'll get brighter until they stop glowing (after which they'll flash briefly), and if you press and hold the button again, they'll dim , until they fade no more. no more (blink again). As far as I can tell you can have them anywhere on that spectrum. Since I mainly use them for ambiance, I set them to their lowest brightness by plugging them into a smart plug that I've linked to my Google Home setup. I attached them to the rear underside of a low shelf in an open bookcase and used the clips provided to discreetly secure the cables. I shortened it to about 22 inches but it turned out to be slightly larger on the spool. I found them easy to install and cut to length, more would get naughty but would be perfectly doable. It was a shame to throw so much in the bin but I still feel like I got my money's worth given the very low price.
