Before you do anything. You have to connect it to your computer and select your car. Then update the driver and install the software. I thought it was plug and play, it isn't. It's easy to use. You will need a tape measure, measure the tire from the bottom to the top. I had a little over 31.25, I chose 31.25 not knowing that the tread depth would only decrease. My speed is correct according to my GPS.
