I have had the same 1.5 cup B+D grinder since 1997. It was my favorite product in my kitchen. I was sad when one day the lid disappeared (accidentally discarded!) and I couldn't find a replacement. So we bought a brand new chopper. This new device is simply cheap. It is very difficult to snap it into place so that it can be turned on. The dot on the lid must match the dot in front of the power switch. but it just turns out to be difficult. We know from the old chopper that the knife has to be fitted in front of each piece of food so that it "seats" properly. Too bad the design has changed for the worse. It still works when you finally snap it in place, but the flat power button only works if you touch it at an angle backwards, otherwise it will turn off and on again. Also, the veggies appear to be shredded rather than sliced. I'm not sure why that is, but if you put onions or green peppers in, they come out like a mush and not finely chopped like my old device. Maybe the blades are stiffer or spin faster, I really don't know. If we lose the cap on this one, we won't buy it again!
