It is very stable even on our soft bed. I'm 5ft 2in and that's a bit big for me. So if you are of average height this should be perfect. It would be nice if it had adjustable legs so you don't have to sit down to use it. It's very reminiscent of the desks I had in middle and high school. It's a bit smaller than a regular table, which is perfect. It has a handy book/iPad holder and a small compartment for various items. It's also lightweight and portable, so I think it's perfect for picnics. It's a nice clean design that's aesthetically pleasing too! The metal legs are actually rounded, so it also has a handy plastic bracket to keep it level when you're lying in bed. The hinges are stiff enough that the legs won't fall out when held, but still slide out easily. All in all a great product that could be improved with adjustable feet.
