Overly padded shoes
Fit, fabric and padding not as expected. Excellent quality from ASICS, as expected. However, the toe cap doesn't allow for much toe movement, so I know my forefoot gets numb on long runs. Too much overall cushioning will result in the shoe feeling hot and clunky. I've been a longtime fan of the ASICS Gel-Nimbus women's trail running shoe over the last few years and have bought several models up until the Gel-Nimbus 16 (my favorites are the 12 and 15!). ASICS changed the insole and toe at about 17-18 and they lost me as a fan. I'm still hoping for a new release that will be great, but it's not.
