So basically I only got it for a day but I wanted to write a review to make sure others don't make the same mistake and read the description carefully (eg., I). That works great. I needed something for my open media shelf that had recently gotten very hot putting an XBox, cable tuner, radio and Sonos on the low shelves. The wooden shelves were hot to the touch, as were all the boxes. It looked like a great bargain and when I received the item it looked high quality and really well made. However, I figured I could separate the two fans to run the cables through the holes in the back, one per shelf, and wire them together. Well, the description clearly states that they are permanently connected - so NO, that's not possible. my fault So I think if you need to run cables through smaller holes (smaller than the fan itself) make sure you're better off buying two separate fans for this to work. Now they stand in a prominent place in front of each shelf, perfectly blowing cool air and solved my problem. But visible. Anyway, other than that they are amazing, went from hot to warm instantly and the only thing I could complain about is a bit of a buzz at full speed. I don't know what it is, but it's a little annoying because of the high-pitched tone. But otherwise they are perfect and do as they are told.
