The very best ingredients for your fur baby

I have kept gerbils for many years and regret that most of the time I could not afford more expensive food. I fed them Kaytee Fiesta because it was cheap. My pets developed many tumors and had widespread diseases. I paid a lot to the vet but after using it I had no such problems. Everyone recommends the Kaytee Forti Diet, but that's the worst thing you can feed your little animals. The ingredients on the packages are listed in order of precedence: ingredients in the largest quantities are used first, followed by ingredients in smaller quantities in descending order. The second ingredient in the Kaytee Forti diet is corn. Corn is terrible because it's the most heavily sprayed crop on the planet, and non-organic corn comes from seeds soaked in the Roundup pesticide. If you feed it to your rodents, you are slowly poisoning them with the pesticide. Soybeans aren't a great ingredient either (heavily sprayed plants), but they're still better and aren't a main ingredient here. This should be used as a supplement. I feed my gerbils fresh organic a few times a week and mix it with dried fruit, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, oatmeal, nuts, rice crumbs, etc. Organic whenever possible. Life is short and small animals need to be able to cook selective meals. Mine eat it like other foods and I am confident that they are getting the best nutrition with the fewest harmful ingredients while enjoying the joy of accidentally finding seeds or nuts in their food.
