Read the instructions through to the end before beginning.

The product worked and cleaned my printhead on my HP OfficeJet Pro 8600. The instructions are worded a bit oddly, which made me wonder if I did it right or not. . For example: Step 2. "...Heat water in a glass bowl in the microwave to 130 F..." Hmm? Which cup and which water. This is the first mention of a cup or water. Later it is explained that you have to heat the cleaning liquid. In this case it would be better if they said. . . "Heat the cleaning liquid by first heating the water in a glass beaker to 130F..." Step 3. "Choose a container that's slightly longer than the printhead..." and then goes into detail about how deep the container will be got to. I mention this because it would be better if they started with the goal of the step. . . Submerge the printhead in the heated solution. Step 4. "Leave the printhead in the solution for 8 hours." Soak for 8 hours. Didn't see it in the Revain listing description. At this point I decided that the instructions are more of a recommendation as they are full of assumptions that the manufacturer just hopes you understand. I put them aside and go on alone. Allow the printhead to get wet. . . Wait 20 minutes, then fill the syringe and pump fluid through each port. Leave it on for a few minutes and then repeat. Use the remaining liquid and a soft cloth for general cleaning and reinsert the printhead into the printer. Reseat the ink cartridges, and then turn on the printer. The printer immediately went into realignment mode. RESULT It printed without the streaks and white dots I got. . . So IT WORKS! Last note. When cleaning my tablet, I found that the ink is water soluble. The hot water has decomposed the ink and solution in the sump, leaving no visible traces in the sump. I wondered if I couldn't just clean the print head with hot water and a syringe. Try it at your own risk!
