I've had this flashlight for over a year now and I want to share my observations. Pros: Fits well, fairly light, bright, and the controls are relatively easy to learn and use. Cons: A small amount of splash (that's the outer edge of the world) gets in your eyes, which only affects distance vision. Easy fix by wearing a hat. Big. This device has phantom leakage current which means that the batteries will eventually run out if left in the device. I've tested Duracell, Energizer, Rayovac, the Radio Shack brand, and Tenergy. batteries. The first three last about 30-35 days with no further use other than turning on the headlamp for about 5 seconds once a week to check the batteries. Radio Shack's branded and rechargeable batteries last about 15-20 days under the same conditions. I have two of these fixtures and both show the same phantom power leakage phenomenon. I bought these headlamps specifically for emergencies in the event of a power outage due to a severe storm.
