This machine works very well. Before that we bought another brand and sent it back. Solidly made, the body is metal, it's heavy and strong. It is very easy to disassemble and clean. After cleaning, none of the parts have discolored. We bought this to grind up chicken quarters for raw feeding our dogs. So far, so good. He effortlessly turned 40 pounds of chicken, 4 whole mackerel, veggies and offal into ground beef. We cut everything into 1 inch pieces, smashed the bones in the chicken with a butcher knife and had no problem. We bought a Weston Petal, if you're making more ground beef I recommend that. Note that this isn't guaranteed to grind bones if you wish you had to buy the Weston Professional Series #22 or #32. If we end up needing to grind more than 40 pounds at a time, we can upgrade.
