Best decision we've ever made buying this

We weren't looking for a robot hoover until one day a sale message popped up on my phone and it was a good choice. I did a little research and it seemed to work reliably, neither my wife nor I are fans of sweeping and vacuuming so this seemed like a good option. We love this little thing! I'm sitting at my computer drinking a cappuccino while our robotic vacuum cleaner buzzes around to keep our whole house clean. Above - it's so easy and does such a good job. It occasionally gets stuck, usually under the front of a dresser, but will beep to call a lifeguard and shut down expectantly. We've had it running for about ten days now and it's collecting a lot of dirt and dust every day. It's thin enough to easily get under all beds and most sofas and armchairs where our upright vacuum can't reach. Some reviewers have indicated that this works best in an apartment or small house; Our home is one story, about 2,300 square feet, and it's everywhere. I chose a central spot to place the base so the vacuum can find its way home when it's time to say goodbye. Runtime was excellent, we mostly have hardwoods with a few mats and it usually lasts a full 100 minutes. We run it on a daily schedule and it always starts on time. Being a 'dumb' robot vacuum, it will cover some areas three or four times while skipping others, yesterday it skipped two bedrooms entirely. It runs every day and ends up taking over the entire floor. You can get a better programmed vacuum for a few hundred dollars more, but we love this one. I was amazed at how well he was able to get out of the jams he had gotten himself into; As soon as I try to save him, RoboVac will think of a new move and mostly free himself. One thing I want to point out is that the instructions say you can wash the dust box after removing the filters. . Yes you can, but water will seep into the two-layer plastic cover. I pulled out the rubber stoppers and unscrewed the top plate to dry, I won't do that again. Wipe with a damp cloth and leave. If only we had a robot to sweep the dust. . .

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • There are more interesting options out there.
