Fairly easy to apply, it just clips onto your laptop. There are 4 different keyboard cases included in the box. So if one doesn't fit your Mac, chances are another in the box will. The illuminated keyboard letters behind the keyboard cover cannot be seen. My only complaint is that if you have a USB-C hub that sits flush with the laptop when plugged in, it WILL NOT WORK with the case included. I took the step of modifying the bottom of the case with a dremel that I saw in another review to allow my socket to fit the case. If you want to change the housing, mark about 2cm outside the ends of your USB hub to make sure it fits and cuts there. Then sand/sand so that there are no sharp edges.
