Used as a 1996 Impala SS replacement (B-body starter upgrade)
I installed this starter on my 1996 Impala CC as an upgrade from the stock B-body starter. This starter must be physically fitted to EVERY LT1, however exhaust/piping/electrical modifications may be required. I have found that my application does not require any modifications. I even used stock devices from the original starter. This Corvette starter works perfectly, looks good, sounds a little different (more like a gear whistle), is a little more compact and even costs a little less. as a "fitting" replacement.
