I have used many readers over the years and I particularly like the pince-nez style for its small size and because it can be carried in a pocket or purse without adding weight to clothing and bags. I used to use the $1 ReaderRescue, but they inevitably break after a few weeks, so it's not cheap in the long run. Decided to spend a little more hoping to get something that will last. Pros: I've had them for a few weeks now, carry them in my vest pocket and so far there is no sign of scratches on them. Cons: Design. The downside is that the metal cap is screwed (rather than glued or otherwise attached) to the plastic lens barrel, so within a week a small screw popped out on one side and easily broke off when putting it back on. As good as the lens clarity is, the nose mount is the weakest link in what could be a significant design improvement. After even gorilla glue couldn't fix it, I drilled a hole and soldered 24 gauge wire to fix it. , so I should be fine with that as long as I regularly check the remaining 3 screws for tightness. However, people often give compliments. I would recommend pincers as a very handy and easy solution for reading labels and menus, but until they improve the design remember to check the frame bolts often and tighten them if necessary.
