Review on 2-inch INFINITIPRO Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron by CONAIR by Tina Vaughn

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Like the result. Hate defects.

While I LOVE LOVE LOVE this iron and think it's probably the best I've ever used, I have to give it a not very high rating due to the lack of long term quality. I bought it in September 2016 so this review is based on the current condition three years later. As you can see I have short naturally curly/curly hair that grows back well. If I want to change my look, this is the best product to keep my hair super straight. I straighten my hair at home with a wash and conditioner, then blow dry and iron my hair. No chemicals. Just jojoba oil and some argon oil for thermal protection. In fact, it's almost too good a flat iron because once I start using it regularly, my natural curls lose their flexibility and my hair doesn't frizz after rewashing. It becomes such a soft curl (almost like a loose Jerry curl) and I had to cut my hair down to the roots at the end to restore it to its natural curly state. For this reason I only straighten my hair on special occasions and never for more than a month in a row. In 2018 I probably straightened my hair for a week. I say this to emphasize the fact that this iron has not been used very much. In fact, I used it every other or third day for about a month for probably three years. So my issue with this iron is that the coating wears off on BOTH sides after just a few uses. This causes blue and red flakes to break off and end up in my hair. You can see it in the photos. Also, the space between the plates started to stick to my hair. It was so annoying that I just stopped using it. Although the price is great (even lower now than when I bought mine) it won't last very long. And this deficiency does not only affect this 1 1/2 inch model. As you can see from the photos, this also happened with the 1 inch iron (FYI I'm posting the same review for both products as they gave the same result). Pros: Heats up super fast Leaves hair super silky Has multiple temperature settings Swivel cords make it easy to manoeuvre. Cons: Stoves can get so hot you'll need to wear gloves. Poor quality exterior coating. The temperature controls are in the wrong place. It just doesn't last long and is of poor quality. And what's the point of buying something twice when I can just spend a little more money on something else and only buy it once?
