If I were home I might pair this with a thinner beanie or balaclava for better heat retention and a little better wind resistance, but really, if you're not into that big city winter, the shoulder hood itself is really you. The extra neck material means it's easy to tuck into my skin or close the neck hole in my serape and you get a great heat seal that way.
