The wheel is big, other accessories are small

cute cage when together. It is very easy to assemble. The problem is the proportions. The wheel is designed for a normal sized hamster or rat. On the other hand, a bowl of food, a shelter, and a bottle of water are better for a small rat or gerbil. It becomes a fun playground for a normal sized hamster when you attach it to a larger room with tunnels. The wheel is really bright, fun and carnival-like. My daughters love the crate and want to take care of their pets. This is a well built cage - just buy a larger cover and water bottle or use it as a play area connected to a larger cage with tunnels. Tunnels are not included, but there is a tunnel port.
