I bought an OEM B&S a while ago, forgot about it and bought this one too. Compared to the OEM this head gasket has no reinforcement in the combustion chamber area and the material itself has a softer feel so I'm sure like all of them it will eventually fail. The Briggs OEM head gasket has an extra layer or material around the cylinder bore so the gasket has maximum traction in that area after the head is bolted in, which should help extend its life. I went with the OEM (works as expected) and now have a spare that I hope I'll never need. Use a cylinder head gasket and a cylinder head cover gasket.
