I got this so that I can easily transport lettuce leaves for groceries. I won't be using it for this because it's too small to hold a large lunch-sized salad. I left it to try and use to store salad at home. I found them too small for that. If you buy a small head of lettuce and don't plan on eating it anytime soon (I don't know why anyone would) it will work. If you buy two heads of lettuce at the lettuce farmer's market next week, that's not enough. Likes: - It has an inner perforated basket/strainer that prevents the lettuce from getting excess water onto the lettuce. This should reduce the decay rate in storage. - The lockable top should keep the contents safe (as long as you don't use the tongue as a handle). Could be better: - The inner screen should be bigger. The bottom line is that there is no excess water in the lettuce. This does not require a large gap on the sides and bottom. If it had a larger inner screen it would be much more useful. I can only store a small amount of lettuce in it. The overall size should also be larger. I've always wanted to put at least two heads of lettuce in it every time I shop at the farmers market. At best, only a small head will fit in it. - Takes up a lot of fridge space for the small amount stored in it. Not determined yet: - I really can't say if this will extend the shelf life of the salad because it doesn't store enough to last long. Size restrictions reserved. I wouldn't buy this again. It's better to just buy a salad spinner and use it for storage after you've cleaned and spun the lettuce.
