Insanely bright for short range and short duration. I use them at work to check car engines. It's bright enough to shine through plastic to quickly identify brake fluid, coolant, and power steering fluids, as well as belts. The clip allows me to attach it to my cap for hands-free work. In addition, the USB is rechargeable. Definitely. However, don't rely on the magnet on the bottom any more than when grabbing the charger. Unfortunately, I have two complaints that are specific to my work. For one, there's no quick-off feature - if I spend less than 8 seconds looking at something, I have to turn off every lighting setting before it turns off. It's also quite short, which has caused me to drop it a couple of times. My previous inspection lamp was the size of a pen or pocket, easy to hold but not bright enough. I would appreciate if they had something half as light but also the size of a shirt pocket. There probably is, but I haven't found it yet. Haha
