Compact and functional

I have a couple of similar things that I bought at Lowe's and I use them to keep an eye on the temperature in underused parts of the house, especially when I'm working where it's needed is to turn off the heating. especially if there are water pipes in the premises concerned. I wanted another one so I jumped at the chance to get one of these thanks to the Vine program. It's smaller than I expected. The screen is about the same size as mine but about half the size. That's convenient. It comes with a small folding bar that prevents it from tipping over backwards. It comes with magnets on the back so you can attach it to a fridge or similar. The others I have also have magnets but they don't stick very well. This one looks like it is likely, and being thinner makes it less likely to get hit. I've never been sure why these bells and whistles read temperatures to a fraction of a degree, but then they say the accuracy is +/- 2 degrees. That means the 67.4 degrees shown could mean something like 65 to 69, so I'm wondering why they don't just say 67 and save space (it reads +/- 1°C, which is a little less than 2° F is). But that doesn't mean it's a big problem. It shows the maximum and minimum temperatures and humidity over a 24-hour period, which is handy because it lets me check how cold the workspace got overnight or how hot an area got while I was working. Summer afternoon when the sun burned all around. That's a good indicator of whether the space is suitable for storing things that are sensitive to temperature and humidity - musical instruments, beer aging boxes, etc. I really can't complain about that. I got mine through the Vine program, but I'd happily pay $12 more for more if I need them.
