Perfect Imperfection

The problem with measuring angles is that we need to measure X and Y, but the readings on the angles of the Gauges are done by tilting the X, Y, and Z axes and the degree of rotation of the axes it spins in. Simply put, if you need a basic 45 degree angle for a saw, or a good horizontal plane for anything, this is it NOT the right tool for you. This tool will give you different measurements depending on how inclined it is in X,Y,Z, and you will never get the same position of the tool in X,Y,Z by using just looking at it. In photos it sits perfectly at 0* but tilting it back slightly throws the measurement off by 0.35* degrees. Adding more variables throws the readings even more off from what the measurement should be. This didn't work. I have placed and recorded the instrument in the same place. Each time different readings were obtained, ranging from 3 to 7.5 degrees. This is because the instrument tilted or looked slightly the other way each time, which wasn't noticeable to my eye. Surprisingly, a cheap goniometer with a dial will be more accurate for your needs since its dial is floating midway. - free in the air, canceling out the X, Y, Z tilt effects.
